(Bandar Seri Begawan, 8th Jan) The Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy, Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, stated that the signing of a joint venture agreement between His Majesty's Government and Rotary Engineering Limited marks the beginning of a joint venture that will bring world-class engineering and maintenance services to local and regional companies. It focuses on improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and delivering services of the highest standards through proven industry best practices.

The Minister made these remarks during the signing ceremony yesterday.

The Minister explained that this partnership aims to create a strong engineering hub in Brunei and provide valuable knowledge and technology transfer to the local workforce, including specialized overseas training services. This ensures that the local workforce possesses the skills and expertise necessary for development in Brunei, as competition in the global market becomes increasingly fierce.

Moreover, by collaborating with local engineering service providers and higher education institutions, we are paving the way for greater synergies and mutual growth.

The Minister mentioned that beyond our country's borders, this partnership provides a platform to expand into regional and international markets. It also encourages local companies and talents to seek new opportunities abroad, extend their influence, and make a name for themselves globally.

The Minister added that the agreement also highlights the government's unwavering commitment to promoting strategic foreign direct investment in line with the Economic Action Plan and supporting efforts towards economic diversification.
