(Bandar Seri Begawan, 4th) To mark World Cancer Day 2026, the Ministry of Health will collaborate with the Ministry of Development to hold a lighting ceremony at the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Bridge and the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Bridge, to show support for efforts to raise public awareness on cancer.
World Cancer Day is observed every year on February 4, as a global initiative aimed at increasing public awareness about cancer, providing support for cancer patients, and encouraging preventive measures and early detection.
The lighting ceremony on the two bridges will feature blue and orange as the main colors, reflecting the theme of World Cancer Day 2026. The lighting ceremony will be held from February 2, 2026 (Monday) to February 8, 2026 (Sunday), from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following day.
The Ministry of Health extends sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Development for its cooperation in making this event a success, and hopes that this initiative will further enhance public awareness of cancer in Brunei.
