(Kuching, 4th) The Election Commission has sought exhibition space from various local governments in Sarawak to display the proposed redelineation maps for Sarawak constituencies. According to the proposal, the number of Sarawak State Legislative Assembly seats will increase from the current 82 to 99.
According to a letter dated 25 June 2026, addressed to the Sarawak Premier’s Office and signed by the Sarawak Election Commission Director Abang Nor Rafi’an Abang Ibrahim, the Commission plans to set up exhibition boards and maps at city halls, municipal councils, and district offices across the 31 parliamentary constituencies in Sarawak.
The setting up of these exhibition materials is part of the “Sarawak State Constituency Redelineation Review Study.”
The letter states:
· “The purpose of setting up the exhibition of the draft and gazetted plan is to physically exhibit, during a period determined by the Commission, the draft constituencies and gazetted plan of the Seventh Sarawak State Constituency Delimitation Review.”
· “Therefore, the Commission respectfully requests your cooperation to allow the setting up of exhibition boards and maps at the relevant city halls, municipal councils, and district offices, together with documents related to the exhibition.”
An appendix is also attached to the letter, listing newly proposed and renamed state constituencies under the redelineation plan.

Among them, the proposed “Bukit Arip” state seat under the Selangau parliamentary seat does not appear in the latest appendix, while the proposed “Tabuan Jaya” state seat under the Bandar Kuching parliamentary seat was not present in the earlier presentation slides.
