(Jakarta, 24th) The Indonesian National Police have launched comprehensive security patrols across Jakarta under the codename "Operation Lilin 2025" (Operasi Lilin 2025), as part of a nationwide security initiative to ensure public safety during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
The Jakarta Metropolitan Police have deployed a total of 5,044 police and military command personnel, and have enhanced security measures at religious venues, especially at churches designated as key security locations. Currently, 14 churches in Central, West, and East Jakarta, as well as in Bekasi, have been given heightened security.
To ensure passenger safety and respond to the expected surge in train travel during the year-end holiday period, the Jakarta Metropolitan Police have also set up security posts at Gambir Railway Station.
