Prime Minister and People's Justice Party (PKR) President Datuk Seri Anwar emphasized that the PKR party election must be held as soon as possible without delay because the expected date for the 16th general election is still far away.
He stated that the party's political bureau meeting was held on Saturday, and it was decided not to postpone the party election.
Anwar made this statement while addressing the PKR Perak state delegates conference on Sunday.
He believes that speeding up the party election will provide a space for cooperation between young and senior leaders, allowing both parties to work together more effectively to manage the party.
“We need to nurture young and female leaders who should be given more opportunities, and this should be the case at the branch level as well. Therefore, we must consider accelerating the party election, but we cannot use old and chaotic methods; we must follow the rules, which is why we are studying the (election mechanism).
Perak Chairman: Challenges Propel the Party Forward
In addition, PKR Perak state chairman Mohd Hairul urged party members not to give up when facing challenges, as challenges can propel the party forward.
He also pointed out that PKR will not give up any opportunity to prove that party leaders can manage the country and states with integrity and excellence.
“Everyone should remember that the party's struggle is filled with twists and tears. Under Anwar's leadership, we have entered Putrajaya, but this is not the end; rather, it is the starting point of new challenges.”
He said it is time to prove that PKR can govern the country with high integrity.
He also added, “Madani Malaysia” is not just a slogan; it is a framework of values that build justice and respect for human rights, and he called on all parties to collectively ensure that no one is left behind.
Meanwhile, Mohd Hairul also requested in his speech to Anwar that more parliamentary and state seats be allocated to PKR in the coming general election.
Those attending the conference included Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Chang Lih Kang, Housing and Local Government Minister and DAP Perak state chairman Nga Kor Ming, and Amanah Perak state chairman Hasmuni.
