Philippine Airlines Aid Cebu Disaster Zone, Commit to Transporting Supplies for Relief Efforts

(Manila, 3rd) Comprehensive report – Philippine local airlines have confirmed that they will continue participating in post-earthquake relief operations in Cebu. The strong earthquake on September 30 severely impacted the province, and multiple operators have already launched emergency assistance.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) issued a statement on Friday, announcing cooperation with the LT Group and collaboration with government and private institutions to provide emergency assistance to affected residents. PAL emphasized that they will prepare to dispatch available flights to transport supplies, including drinking water and other essentials, to support relief operations while maintaining regular flight schedules during their humanitarian missions.

Low-cost carrier AirAsia Philippines also expressed full support, pledging to prioritize humanitarian transport missions to Cebu. AirAsia said it is working with government agencies, NGOs, and the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation to ensure emergency medical teams and essential supplies arrive safely and promptly.

Cebu Pacific spokesperson Carmine Romero also confirmed that the company has opened up for the transport of relief supplies to help disaster-affected communities through this difficult time.
