(Selangor, 26th) A 20-year-old local female university student was recently found dead in a luxury condominium apartment. Several valuable items were reported missing. Police investigations have confirmed that the victim was not sexually assaulted, and the case is currently being investigated as a murder.
Police received a report at 10:28 am on Tuesday (24th) and arrived at the scene in Cyberjaya, Selangor, where they found the Sikh woman lying dead inside the apartment.
Sepang District Police Chief Assistant Superintendent Noor Hiszam cited preliminary investigations, stating that the victim had visible injuries on her head, but no signs of forced entry were present at the scene.
In a statement on Thursday, he said the victim’s body was later sent to the Serdang Hospital mortuary for an autopsy, which confirmed the cause of death was due to blunt force trauma to the head.
“Police did not find any signs of sexual assault on the victim.”
Currently, police have classified the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code (Murder) and urged anyone with information to promptly contact Investigating Officer Assistant Superintendent Mohamad Husni (0129307860) or visit the nearest police station to provide information.
Meanwhile, the public is urged not to spread unverified information to avoid affecting the progress of the investigation.
Separately, according to Daily News reports, the victim, who was from Kuching, Sarawak, was enrolled in Cyberjaya studying for a Bachelor of Physiotherapy.
The report pointed out that her five housemates had returned to their hometowns for vacation on Saturday (21st), leaving her alone in the apartment at the time of the incident. On the day of the incident, the victim was preparing for exams.
Several of the victim’s valuable items were also believed to have been taken by the suspect after the incident.
