Due to heavy rainfall, multiple parks, scenic spots, and museums in Beijing, the capital of China, are temporarily closed. The National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters of China has also launched a Level Four flood control emergency response for Beijing and Tianjin.

According to the official website of the Ministry of Emergency Management of China, weather departments have forecast that from Thursday to Friday (July 9 to 10), Beijing and Tianjin will experience heavy to torrential rain, with some areas facing short-term heavy downpours. The risks of mountain floods, geological disasters, flooding of medium and small rivers, and urban waterlogging remain high. According to the National Flood Control and Drought Relief Emergency Plan and relevant regulations, the national flood response was raised to Level Four for Beijing and Tianjin at 9:00 pm on Thursday.

According to China Central Television News, the Beijing Meteorological Observatory issued its first orange alert for rainstorm since the flood season began this year on Thursday. At 1:30 pm that day, Beijing also launched a Level Two flood control emergency response. Red rainstorm alerts have been issued across several districts in Beijing.

Due to heavy rainfall, several parks in Beijing involving mountains and water, such as the National Botanical Garden, Summer Palace, Fragrant Hills Park, and Beihai Park, will be temporarily closed starting Friday, with reopening times subject to weather conditions. Visitors who purchased tickets in advance but have not entered the park can get refunds through the original ticket channels.

Fenghuangling Scenic Area began temporary closure measures starting Thursday; visitors who have purchased tickets can request refunds through the original purchase channels. All A-level scenic spots, rural homestays, and tent campsites in Mentougou District will be closed from Friday, with all tourism reception and study activities fully suspended; reopening times will be announced separately.

In addition, Bada Chu Park, Beijing Zoo, Tongzhou Grand Canal Cultural Tourism Scenic Spot, and Pinggu Jingdong Grand Canyon Scenic Spot have also issued notices of temporary closure.

The Chinese Archaeological Museum will be temporarily closed from Friday, and the China Museum of Paleontology and the China Science and Technology Museum will also implement temporary closure measures from Friday to Saturday (July 10–11).

According to China Weather News, affected by Typhoon "Bavi" and long-distance water vapor transport, a wide range of strong winds and rainfall is expected to affect eastern China starting Friday. Fujian, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Anhui, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and the Northeast should be on guard against secondary disasters caused by heavy rainfall.

The Beijing Meteorological Observatory estimates that from 2:00 pm Friday to 8:00 am Sunday (the 12th), Beijing will experience heavy rainfall, with very heavy rain in Huairou, Miyun, Pinggu, Shunyi, and Fangshan districts. The risks of mountain floods in Pinggu, Miyun, and Fangshan districts are high, and Haidian, Fengtai, Chaoyang, Shijingshan, and Tongzhou districts face moderate risk of urban waterlogging.

The Beijing Municipal Transportation Commission is urging residents to reduce travel during orange alerts for heavy rainfall, mountain floods, and geological disasters. The Beijing Water Authority reminds the public to avoid waterlogged sections, do not drive through water, and suspend all mountain- and water-related outdoor activities.
