A woman in Guangzhou, China, recently dined at Sushi Lang's Panyu Tianhe City store and was shocked to find that a boy at a nearby table stretched his legs onto her table and touched the water dispenser tap directly with his bare feet. This raised concerns about food hygiene, and left her so appalled that she exclaimed, "I probably won't ever eat at Sushi Lang again in my life."
According to the "Strait Metropolis Daily," the incident occurred on the morning of the 14th at Sushi Lang's Panyu Tianhe City store.
The woman immediately reported the issue to the staff and requested that the water tap touched by the child be immediately cleaned and disinfected, but the store declined. The staff only promised that the seat would be left vacant for half an hour after she left, and the water tap replaced, which left her quite dissatisfied.
In response, Sushi Lang confirmed that the incident did take place. The local market regulatory authorities have also ordered the store to conduct thorough cleaning and disinfection, and to strengthen on-site inspections.
The store stated that after the incident, they had comprehensively cleaned and disinfected the water tap touched by the child's feet to reduce food hygiene risks. Going forward, they will also strengthen on-site management and staff inspections. If they find any customer behaving in a way that may affect food hygiene, staff will immediately intervene and stop the behavior in order to maintain a hygienic and safe dining environment.
