(Miri, 14th) The leisure park facilities at Ocean Park 2B/1 Road in Miri have received an allocation of RM150,000 from Sarawak’s Deputy Minister of Tourism, Datuk Sebastian Ting, for upgrading works.
Datuk Sebastian Ting's service team, including SUPP Piasau Branch Youth Chief and councilor Leslie Lau, along with Miri City Council Engineering Department officials and the Village Development and Security Committee, recently inspected Ocean Park.
Leslie Lau stated that this funding was applied for through the 2024 Rural Transformation Plan with Sebastian Ting’s assistance, and the RM150,000 was approved last April to enhance the leisure park facilities for local residents.
He said the project will include widening the park walkway, adding benches, optimizing the lighting system, and improving the drainage system. These enhancements will not only beautify the park environment but also make it a more comfortable public leisure space.
It is reported that the upgrading works are expected to begin soon and are hoped to provide Miri’s Ocean Park residents with better quality leisure facilities upon completion, promoting community interaction and a healthy lifestyle.
