Brunei Hakka Association Visits Taiwan for Cultural Exchange Trip

(Bandar Seri Begawan, 30th) A group of 36 members from the Brunei Hakka Association, led by President Ling Yongqiang and Vice President Rao Meiliang, arrived in Taiwan on a Royal Brunei Airlines flight for an eight-day cultural exchange and goodwill visit from the 20th to the 27th of this month. Upon arrival at Taoyuan International Airport, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Zhong Luchang, chairman of the Taoyuan City Longtan Philharmonic Orchestra, leader Zhang Hongyu, and other related directors and supervisors.
 At noon, the delegation visited Jiahe Koi Garden and appreciated the art pieces by renowned ceramic sculptor, Dr. Liang Chengfu. In the evening, the hosts held a welcome banquet for the distinguished guests at the Songye Garden Restaurant, with accommodations arranged at the Taoyuan Garden Hotel.
 On the morning of May 21, the delegation visited the Taiwan Hakka Tea Culture Museum and was treated to a luncheon by the Taoyuan City Hakka Affairs Bureau. In the afternoon, they went to the Longtan Philharmonic Academy to watch a live music performance. In the evening, they experienced calligraphy and tea ceremony aesthetics with a special calligraphy presentation by calligrapher Lu Ruidan. A banquet was hosted by Chairman Zhong Luchang.
 On May 22, the group visited the Leofoo Village Wildlife Park. Subsequently, they visited the Hsinchu City Hakka Consulting Association, warmly received by Chairman Gu Rongzheng and several directors and supervisors, followed by a cordial luncheon. The group then continued to Taichung City in the afternoon, staying at the Evergreen Laurel Hotel.
 On May 23, the journey continued southward to visit the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum and Ten Drum Culture Village, where they experienced traditional Hakka lei cha. In the evening, a special dinner was arranged by Brunei-Taiwan Chamber of Commerce Chairman Wu Jiawen at the internationally renowned JJ Rock Steakhouse in Tainan City, personally hosted by restaurant owner Chen Kaiming. Both the hosts and guests enjoyed the event, staying at Tayih Landis Hotel in Tainan for the night.
 On May 24, the delegation visited Fo Guang Shan in Kaohsiung City and had the honor of meeting Abbot Huichuan, taking a group photo in front of the Transmission Light Building. In the afternoon, they toured the Chimei Museum and shopped freely at the sunset market. The evening banquet was warmly hosted by Hakka Alliance Association Chairman Qiu Jianguo and various Kaohsiung associations on a Love River cruise, leaving fond memories of the visit.
 On May 25, the delegation returned to Taipei by high-speed rail, visiting Taipei 101 and the Ximending Night Market, where they tasted Din Tai Fung's signature xiaolongbao. In the evening, they stayed at The Landis Taipei Hotel.
 On the morning of May 26, the delegation visited the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and went to Jiufen Old Street in the afternoon to experience the nostalgic mountain town atmosphere. The evening banquet was arranged by Brunei-Taiwan Chamber of Commerce Councilor Zhuang at the "Hua Deng Chu Shang" Restaurant, with the former Taipei representative to Brunei also invited, creating a warm and lively atmosphere.
 On May 27, the Brunei Hakka Association delegation successfully concluded their exchange tour and flew back home.
