Taiwan President Lai Ching-te said that if Taiwan is subject to military invasion, any information regarding defeat or surrender is false information, emphasizing that this is Taiwan's stance and demonstrates its resolve to defend freedom, democracy, and the sustainability of Taiwan.

According to a press release from the Office of the President, Lai Ching-te attended the opening ceremony of the "All-of-Society Defense Resilience International Forum—Resilient Taiwan, Sustainable Democracy" on the 20th, and stated that Taiwan and the world face two major challenges: on one hand, disasters caused by extreme weather, and on the other, authoritarian systems led by mainland China are strengthening alliances, infiltrating, and sabotaging democratic societies. "We must take proactive actions and accelerate our preparation."

Lai Ching-te believes that peace cannot be built on the goodwill of aggressors; to prevent war and maintain peace, the only way is through continuous preparation, enhancing defense capabilities and social resilience.

He pointed out that the reason Taiwan faces threats does not lie in what Taiwan has done or said, but in Taiwan's courageous defense of its free and democratic way of life, which does not fit the ambitions of authoritarian aggressors.

He said the Ministry of National Defense has released a new version of the National Defense Handbook for all citizens, "When Crisis Strikes: Taiwan All-People Security Guide," so that every household can obtain this security guide.

Lai Ching-te emphasized, more importantly, "Should Taiwan face military invasion, any message regarding national defeat or government surrender is false information. As Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces of the Republic of China, I want to tell fellow citizens and the international community that this is Taiwan's stance, and it is our resolve to defend freedom, democracy, and the sustainability of Taiwan."
