(Miri, 14th) The Northern Piasau Fishermen Wharf welcomes repair and upgrading projects to further improve the working environment and safety for fishermen! This project aims to repair damaged structures and strengthen wharf facilities, providing a more stable and convenient working space for local fishermen.

Miri Mayor and Pujut State Assemblyman YB Adam Yii  led a team to the site today to inspect the progress of the project and listen to reports from relevant units. He stated that the fishermen wharf is an important infrastructure for the community's economy, and therefore its stability and safety must be ensured to ensure the smooth operation of fishermen's daily work.

"Fisheries are related to the daily food supply of Miri’s people and are also a key part of the local economy. We must pay attention to the needs of fishermen, providing a safer and more perfect working environment. This upgrade project not only helps the development of fisheries but also ensures the safety of fishermen's operations," said Adam Yii.

The funding for this project comes from the Sarawak government's annual allocation, namely the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP), to ensure the continuous improvement of community infrastructure. The repair and upgrading work includes repairing damaged wharf structures, enhancing stability, and optimizing safety facilities to allow fishermen to operate in a safer environment while promoting the sustainable development of local fisheries.

Adam Yii emphasized that he will continue to monitor the progress of the project to ensure its timely completion and looks forward to this move bringing better working conditions for fishermen, while also promoting the long-term development of the Miri fishery.
