Since Unitree Robotics became a hit last year by appearing on the Spring Festival Gala, this year's Spring Gala sponsorship has drawn much attention. On Sunday (January 25), China Media Group officially announced that Galaxy General-Purpose Robot has been named the designated embodied large model robot for the 2026 China Spring Festival Gala.
According to technology media 36Kr’s report last year, several embodied intelligence companies have been vying for the sponsorship spot for the Year of the Dragon Spring Festival Gala, with Zhiyuan and Unitree as the fiercest competitors. In the race for the top sponsorship rights, Zhiyuan Robot was first to offer 60 million yuan (RMB, approximately 34.22 million MYR), while Unitree Technology directly raised the bid to 100 million yuan. Zhiyuan Robot denied this report.
During the 2025 Year of the Snake Spring Festival Gala, 16 humanoid robots “Fu Xi” (H1 model) from Unitree Technology, performed in renowned director Zhang Yimou’s creative fusion dance “YangBOT,” dancing the Yangge with dancers from Xinjiang Arts Institute and even completing moves like handkerchief tossing, drawing much attention.
Last Friday, China Media Group announced that Magical Atom has officially become the Spring Festival Gala intelligent robot strategic partner. To date, two humanoid robot companies—Magical Atom and Galaxy General-Purpose—have been confirmed to appear at this year’s gala. Some self-media analysts interpret this as a sign that the Gala's technological narrative is shifting from showcasing flashy tech to demonstrating the nation’s core technological strength in frontier industries.

Compared to Unitree Technology, which focuses more on showcasing high-difficulty athletic abilities such as running, jumping, and somersaults, Galaxy General-Purpose emphasizes embodied intelligence large models, aiming for robots to perform operational tasks in complex real-world environments like factories, warehouses, and retail through general-purpose intelligence-driven industrial and commercial applications. Magical Atom puts more emphasis on implementable scenarios such as industry, inspection, and services, highlighting stability, delivery capability, and commercialization.
