The 2024 American Billboard Music Awards were announced last night (13th), with Taylor Swift winning 10 awards including Artist of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, and Album of the Year for "The Tortured Poet Club." She emerged as the biggest winner of this year's event, accumulating a total of 49 awards throughout her career, maintaining her record as the most awarded artist in Billboard history. American country singer Zach Bryan followed with five awards.
The award ceremony, hosted by Michelle Buteau the night before, saw Taylor Swift accepting her awards through a video message, attributing her success to her fans. "I consider the Billboard Awards as fan-voted awards because you listen to the albums and attend the concerts. Thank you for making 'The Eras Tour' and 'The Tortured Poet Club' a success," Taylor stated. She candidly expressed that the awards were the best and earliest birthday gift, saying, "I love it. This is exactly what I wanted!"
Korean artists also shone at this year's Billboard Awards. The boy group Stray Kids won Global K-Pop Artist of the Year, performing "Chk Chk Boom" and "JJAM." SEVENTEEN, aside from their performance of "Love, Money, Fame," won K-Pop Tour Artist of the Year. As for BTS's Jungkook, who could not attend due to military service, he secured the K-Pop Album of the Year award with "GOLDEN," defeating groups like Stray Kids and TOMORROW X TOGETHER.
