Taiwanese actress 'Guo Guo' was involved in marital turmoil with her ex-husband Fan Jiang Yan Feng in October last year. Fan Jiang alleged that 'Prince' Qiu Shengyi intervened in their marriage and claimed to have irrefutable evidence of their affair, based on which he filed a civil lawsuit for infringement of spousal rights, demanding joint compensation of 1 million TWD (approximately 125,000 MYR) from both Guo Guo and Prince. On the 14th, the Shilin District Court held a hearing. Fan Jiang appeared in court in person, while Guo Guo and Prince were represented by their lawyers. Both parties “acknowledged” Fan Jiang’s claim in court and agreed to compensate him the 1 million TWD; the judge scheduled the verdict announcement for April 28.
On the afternoon of the 14th, Fan Jiang entered the Shilin District Court accompanied by his lawyer, while the lawyers representing Guo Guo and Prince stated in court that they fully acknowledge the plaintiff’s claim of 1 million TWD (meaning they agree to pay the amount requested), and they made the unusual request that the judgment not be made public. However, Fan Jiang’s side did not consent to this.
After the hearing, Fan Jiang was interviewed and commented, “After all, these two personally destroyed my family. I must protect my child and fight for my deserved rights. I respect the judicial decision and believe the court will bring me justice.” When the media asked about Prince reportedly dodging military service, Fan Jiang replied, “I’ve always been aware of that, but it’s not the focus today.” As for the defense lawyer’s claim that the evidence was obtained illegally, Fan Jiang said that is not a point of contention, nor is it factual, so there’s no need for further explanation.
It is understood that Fan Jiang claims Guo Guo had an extramarital affair with Prince during her marriage, and that he holds key evidence. Soon after, photos purportedly showing Guo Guo and Prince naked and embracing in a bathroom surfaced. Prince later issued a statement admitting fault and apologizing: “I’m sorry, wrong is wrong, there’s no excuse or justification.” He once hoped to pay the compensation in installments, but negotiations fell through. He promised to face the matter together with Guo Guo.
