Optimistic about China's Economy: Moody's Maintains Credit Rating

International credit rating agency Moody's released a report on the 26th, maintaining China's sovereign credit rating at 'A1' with a negative outlook unchanged. In response, the Ministry of Finance of China stated that Moody's decision reflects the positive prospects for China's economy.

On the 26th, the Ministry of Finance of China pointed out on its official website, in a Q&A format with a responsible person, that since the fourth quarter of 2024, the Chinese government has been continuously promoting a package of macro-control policies, with economic indicators improving, market confidence and expectations stabilizing, and the medium to long-term sustainability of debt strengthening. Moody's maintenance of China's credit rating unchanged is a positive reflection of the positive outlook for China's economy.

The responsible person also emphasized that in the context of global economic development facing weak momentum and increasing geopolitical conflicts, China's economy has had a good start, with production and consumption demand steadily rising, showing strong resilience and vitality.

He stated that the upcoming series of incremental and existing policies will work together to support high-quality economic development. Regardless of changes in the external environment, China will remain firmly confident and focused on handling its own affairs well.

On the other hand, although China and the United States reached a tariff truce agreement at the beginning of this month, Moody's still pointed out that uncertainties regarding future trade restrictions and global trade flows have not been eliminated.
