While performing a 'flying kick' move, the robot kicked a young boy who was watching at very close range!

At a scenic spot in Urumqi, Xinjiang, China, during a Children's Day event, a humanoid robot showcasing martial arts stunts suddenly kicked a boy in the abdomen while performing a 'flying kick' move. The child immediately doubled over in pain, clutching his stomach and squatting on the ground groaning. The footage quickly went viral online.

According to reports, there were no safety barriers or warning lines set up at the scene. Large numbers of tourists, including many children, were gathered at close range around the performance area. Some children were even standing at the edge of the robot's range of movement, watching its martial arts demonstration.

What sparked further controversy is that the robot was not fully automated, but manually controlled by onsite staff. When the accident occurred, staff did not immediately step in to handle the situation or comfort those involved, drawing strong dissatisfaction from the boy's family.

The boy's mother later said that she was not present at the time and learned of the incident through videos provided by other parents. She stated that after examination, her son was not seriously hurt, but she could not accept the attitude of the scenic area afterward. She believed not only did the relevant personnel fail to show timely concern, they also tried to shift responsibility. She has reported the matter to the police and is considering legal action to pursue accountability.

After the incident came to light, netizens were divided. Some criticized the scenic area's severely lacking safety measures: "Completely unsafe with no barrier, too dangerous," and "They should have immediately apologized and taken responsibility"; others felt that parents and children were also negligent: "Standing so close is risky to begin with" and "Parental supervision is equally important."
