A large-scale fan riot occurred near the Libyan capital Tripoli on the 14th, with parts of the Prime Minister's Office set on fire.
Earlier, a football match held in the city of Tarhuna, southeast of Tripoli, sparked a fan riot due to a controversial referee decision.
According to local media reports, some players were attacked and several security vehicles were set on fire. Brigade 444, under the Ministry of Defense, intervened to maintain order and clashed with unidentified gunmen. During the gunfight, one Brigade 444 soldier was killed and another seven were injured.
Subsequently, the unrest spread to several areas of Tripoli, with gunfire heard at the scenes. Some protesters set parts of the Prime Minister's Office on fire. The Libyan Government of National Unity has deployed security personnel at government institutions and major intersections to control the situation.
