Hong Kong actress Athena Chu became famous for her classic role as 'Zixia Fairy' in the film 'A Chinese Odyssey', with her pure temperament and charming smile making her a dream girl in the hearts of a generation. However, she once admitted that she had an 'unbearable' experience in her acting career—being misled by director Wong Jing into mistakenly filming the Category III film 'Seductive Uniforms'.
Recalling the incident, Athena Chu said that Wong Jing had invited her to shoot a suspenseful romance film titled 'Midnight Butcher', assuring her that the plot was wholesome and the character positive. Trusting him, she accepted the role. Unexpectedly, after filming was completed, the title was changed to 'Seductive Uniforms', and the content was filled with provocative and suggestive scenes, making her realize she had been duped. Athena sorrowfully said: “I was deceived!” and admitted this was the black mark in her career she most wanted to erase.
When the film was released, it sparked huge controversy, badly damaging Athena Chu's pure image and causing her to fall into a slump for a time. Although she felt helpless about Wong Jing's actions, she still chose to remain professional and never publicly criticized him.
