(Miri, 5th) Miri District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Alexson Naga stated that in the rapidly evolving technological era, various cybercriminal cases and drug abuse incidents are continuously increasing. Therefore, I request that all officers must grasp the latest information and knowledge to effectively combat these crimes.
He said that in the new era, we cannot wait for cases to come to us. We hope that officers remain sensitive to matters within their jurisdiction and continually improve and learn to effectively prevent various crimes from happening.
Alexson Naga made these remarks during the December monthly assembly at the Miri Police Headquarters.
He reiterated that discipline is the core of police service, and he hopes all police officers comply with instructions from the leadership. Before taking action, they should consider whether their behavior might be detrimental to the team, as erroneous actions can tarnish the reputation of the entire Royal Malaysia Police team, and I will not tolerate or compromise with any senior officer or officer involved in crime.
“Officers must also have a healthy mind and body, so all unit leaders must focus on their subordinates. When necessary, officers should fully utilize counseling services to relieve stress.”
He also mentioned that every gathering of the police force serves to renew the vows of officials, members, and civilian staff at all levels. Commitment is a crucial avenue to uphold responsibilities in enhancing memory, aside from evaluating achieved successes and the updated steps needed to overcome any weaknesses.
“Due to the current unstable weather in Miri, with strong winds, rough waves, and frequent rain, officers must be prepared for potential disasters such as floods and landslides. Once an incident occurs within their jurisdiction, local district chiefs must immediately report to the relevant units or to me.”
