A serious shooting occurred today at a school in Nonthaburi Province, Thailand. A 14-year-old boy first shot and killed his grandparents at home, then took his grandfather’s registered gun to the school, where he shot and killed at least five teachers and staff before turning the gun on himself. The incident left 7 people dead, shocking the entire nation.
According to the police, the shooter used a registered gun under his grandfather’s name. A total of at least 26 rounds were fired at the scene, and 34 unused bullets were found. The deceased include the shooter’s grandparents as well as five teachers and staff from the school.
After the incident, students were urgently evacuated and the injured were sent to the hospital for treatment. The scene was chaotic, with many teachers embracing and crying.
Thailand’s Prime Minister Anutin arrived at the scene to learn about the situation. He stated that police had taken a statement from one of the shooter’s friends, who revealed that the shooter had been under long-term academic pressure. Police believe the crime was premeditated and are currently investigating the shooter’s motive and how he obtained the firearm.
