Five Regional Development Agencies in Sarawak: 228 Projects Completed

(Kuching, 20th) — As of April 2026, out of the 1,186 development projects under the five Regional Development Agencies (RDA) in Sarawak, 228 projects (19%) have been completed under Sarawak's annual development budget.

Sarawak Deputy Premier and Second Minister for Finance and New Economy, Datuk Amar Douglas, stated that the remaining 958 projects (81%) are at various stages of implementation.

According to him, the Sarawak state government has allocated RM7.5 billion for the implementation of development projects under the jurisdiction of these regional development agencies, which include: Sri Aman Development Agency (SADA), Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA), Rajang Delta Development Agency (RADDA), Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA), and Middle Rajang Regional Development Agency (MiRRDA).

“Of these projects, 1,169 are physical projects and 17 are non-physical projects.” 

“As of April 2026, RM395 million has been spent, of which 228 projects (19%) have been completed, while the remaining 958 projects (81%) are still at various stages of implementation.” 

This was disclosed by Douglas during the departmental wrap-up in parliament.

Meanwhile, he also mentioned that another RM6 billion has been allocated through the alternative financing scheme for the implementation of projects under the jurisdiction of the Northern Region Development Agency (NRDA), Highland Development Agency (HDA), Upper Rajang Development Agency (URDA), and Samarahan Integrated Regional Development Agency (IRSDA). 

He added that as of April 2026, RM3.48 billion has been spent under this scheme, with 651 projects successfully completed.
