According to reports, some Chinese aircraft have recently been rerouted to avoid the southern Russian airspace, believed to be related to an Azerbaijani passenger plane that was allegedly shot down in the area on the 25th.
According to a recent report by Chinese financial news outlet Caixin, Air China flight CA781 from Urumqi to Georgia arrived at Tbilisi International Airport on the 2nd, flying over Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Azerbaijan, thus avoiding the southern Russian airspace.
The report noted that some Chinese airline flights have begun to bypass the southern Russian airspace, the area where an Azerbaijani aircraft was allegedly shot down by Russian forces on the 25th of last month.
Reports indicate that, in addition to rerouting south over Azerbaijan to enter Georgia, Chinese flights are also crossing north over central and northern Russia to avoid the incident airspace.
According to related information relayed by Hong Kong media, China Southern Airlines currently has six routes passing through the Caucasus region to Europe, all of which have bypassed the southern Russian airspace; Air China's flight from Beijing to Athens, Hainan Airlines' flight from Chongqing to Rome, and China Eastern Airlines' flight from Shanghai to Istanbul do not enter Russian territory.
