(Miri, 14th) Sarawak Deputy Minister of Tourism Datuk Sebastian Ting stated that the Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) and Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) have always maintained a close cooperative relationship. This friendship is an important cornerstone of Sarawak's stability, unity, and harmony.
"We all know that only through long-term friendly cooperation and unity, supporting each other, can we ensure Sarawak's continued prosperity and development, signifying the importance of moving forward together."
He expressed gratitude for the firm support from the PBB Piasau branch, stating that it is due to everyone's efforts that progress in promoting Sarawak's development is being made, while community construction is being improved.
Also serving as the SUPP Piasau branch chairman, Sebastian Ting made this statement while hosting an iftar dinner for the PBB Piasau branch and community leaders in the Piasau constituency last night.
He emphasized, as the late former Sarawak Chief Minister Pehin Sri Adenan Satem said, "We must take good care of Sarawak." This statement always reminds us that unity is the key to Sarawak's continuous progress.
"Today, under the leadership of Sarawak Premier Dato Patinggi Abang Johari, the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is striving to promote economic growth, improve people's welfare, and ensure a brighter future for Sarawakians."
He pointed out that everyone belongs to the same big family, namely the GPS. Whether it is PBB or SUPP, they stand on the same front line, and only by maintaining unity can we ensure Sarawak's stability and progress, allowing the people to enjoy a better living environment.
Additionally, PBB Piasau branch chairman and Deputy Mayor Ariffin Bin Mohamad stated that PBB and SUPP are both part of the GPS, sharing the same goals and direction, as part of the same big family.
He expressed that the PBB Piasau branch and the SUPP Piasau branch have always adhered to the spirit of friendly cooperation and mutual support, jointly promoting the development of Miri and Sarawak, whether on the electoral battlefield or in the daily promotion of governance, they will support each other unreservedly and advance hand in hand.
"In the upcoming Sarawak elections, whether this year or next, we are fully prepared, with unified goals and concerted efforts to fight."
He pointed out that the PBB Piasau branch fully supports GPS, and as long as it is a GPS ally, they stand on the same front line. It's not about starting preparation only during the election but has always been solidly working to ensure GPS continues to earn the people's trust and support.
"Gathering together for the iftar dinner, this is not only a time for exchange but also a symbol of the close unity and joint progress of the PBB Piasau branch and the SUPP Piasau branch under the GPS banner."
He said that the iftar dinner is not only a festive gathering but also a platform for strengthening exchanges, allowing everyone to enhance mutual understanding, whether it is the executive committee, women's group, youth league, or junior youth league, they can use this opportunity to strengthen connections and cooperation.
He thanked Sebastian Ting for the hospitable invitation and all the attendees for their support, letting everyone unite under the GPS banner, to jointly face future challenges, ensuring the prosperity and stability of Sarawak.
