(Miri, 10th) In conjunction with the annual Mother's Day, the Deputy Minister of Sarawak Tourism and Chairman of SUPP Piasau Branch, Datuk Ting Chiew Yew, held a flower-giving event this morning at the outdoor dining center, Unity Dining Center, and Miri Market, personally presenting a total of 350 bouquets of flowers to women on site to express respect and blessings to mothers worldwide.
This event is organized by SUPP Piasau Branch, aiming to promote the traditional Chinese virtues of filial piety and respect for mothers. It also serves as an opportunity to interact closely with the citizens on this special occasion, conveying the party's spirit of 'people-oriented' service while expressing sincere respect and gratitude to all women through the act of giving flowers.
"Mother's Day is not only a time for celebration but also a significant moment for society to pay tribute to mothers and reflect on family values and humanitarian care." Ting Chiew Yew said in his speech that mothers are the core roles of every family, serving not only as the first teachers of children but also as the crucial force supporting families and cultivating the pillars of society.
He pointed out that whether they are career mothers working hard in the workplace or full-time housewives quietly contributing to their families, every mother deserves our lifelong gratitude and respect.
Ting Chiew Yew urged the younger generation to always maintain a heart of gratitude and express love and feedback through actions, fulfilling responsibilities to their families and extending the traditional spirit of filial piety across all levels of society.
At the event site, there was also a mobile service counter led by the Piasau Branch, providing the public with various policy information and consultation services, including the **Sarawak ID**, **Basic Needs Assistance Scheme (BKSS)**, **Elderly Health Benefits**, and **Kenyalang Gold Card**.
Ting Chiew Yew emphasized that these conveniences demonstrate the Sarawak government’s continuous efforts to promote the governance concept of **“people-centered”**. He encouraged the public, especially the elderly and vulnerable groups, to actively apply for and utilize the aid programs launched by the government to improve their quality of life.
“The implementation of these policies reflects the Sarawak Party Alliance government’s continuous care for families, the elderly, and grassroots citizens. We hope to bring care to the people through service methods that are close to them.”
