Brunei Hakka Association Awards Academic Excellence Grants, Annual General Meeting Held Warmly

(Seria, 17th) The Brunei Hakka Association successfully convened its 2025 annual general meeting today at the Kindergarten Building of Seria Chung Hwa School. At the same time, it held an event to honor elders and presented academic excellence awards to members’ children, with over 180 children of members in attendance.
The meeting was opened with a speech by President Ling Yongqiang, followed by the deliberation of previous proposals, the secretary's report, and the financial report. Before the meeting concluded, the board and all members took a group photo as a memento.
At 11:00 am, the meeting arranged a ceremony to present commemorative gifts and red packets to the elderly. This event saw commemorative gifts awarded to five seniors: Yang Ya Nan, Liu Shi Lin, Yang Yun Qing, Xie Zuan Xin, and Tian Sai E. In addition, red packets were presented to members aged 70 and 80, creating a warm and lively atmosphere.
Next, the association presented academic excellence awards to members’ children, with a total of 35 students receiving awards. The head of the Education and Culture Unit, Huang Si Ting, gave a speech encouraging students to continue their hard work in their studies. Afterwards, board members and the award-winning students took photos together, and student representative Peng Kan delivered an acceptance speech.
The meeting concluded successfully at noon, followed by lunch and assistance for the elderly in receiving drinks and food.
This annual general meeting not only summarized the association's work for 2025 but also demonstrated the association's care and attention to members' families through the granting of awards and elder-honoring activities, highlighting the solidarity and spirit of heritage of the Brunei Hakka community.
