Princess Kate: The Road Back to Daily Life After Cancer Is Full of Challenges

Published at Jul 03, 2025 09:57 am
(London, 3rd) On Wednesday (July 2), Britain’s Princess Kate publicly stated that during her cancer treatment, she had to “put on a brave face,” and admitted that it has been a life-changing journey.
According to Reuters, the 43-year-old Princess Kate announced in March 2024 that she had been diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer following major abdominal surgery. She completed her treatment in September of the same year, and at the beginning of this year, began to gradually resume some royal duties.
While visiting a hospital in Essex, southeast England this week, and talking with medical staff, patients, and volunteers, Princess Kate said: “During the treatment, you try to stay strong and act as if nothing is wrong, as though you can handle everything. Once treatment ends, people think ‘I can bounce back and return to normal life,’ but in fact, this stage is actually the hardest.”
She pointed out that although patients have completed their treatment clinically, the process of resuming daily life is often full of challenges, and requires more lasting psychological and family support.
She noted that cancer has not only changed the course of her own life, but has also deeply affected her family, and she called for greater societal focus on support during the recovery phase. “This is more like a rollercoaster journey than a smooth road.”
Princess Kate is currently gradually resuming her public duties, but the royal household has stated that she is still working hard to balance her health recovery and her responsibilities. Therefore, in the coming period, Princess Kate’s activities will depend on how her body continues to recover.
