(Kuching, 11th) – The temporary repairs on a main pump water pipe, with a diameter of 1050mm, located along Batu Kitang Hajibakiru Road, were successfully completed this morning.
In a statement, Sarawak Water Supply Company said that as part of the temporary repair work, welding was completed at around 7:30am.
"After the repair work was completed, the water supply system is being restored in stages."
Sarawak Water Supply Company added that during the water supply restoration, some areas may experience cloudy water.
The company further explained that this situation is temporary and is caused by sediment inside the pipes being disturbed during the repair work.
"Sarawak Water Supply Company will continue to carry out systematic and phased flushing operations at designated locations to remove any remaining sediment, improve water clarity, and stabilize the overall water quality.
The statement also reminded that if household water appears discolored, users are advised to let the water run for a while.
Meanwhile, the statement also mentioned that water tanker services will remain on standby and will be deployed as necessary to areas still affected by the water supply interruption during system restoration.
