In January, the UK was hit by storms that caused hundreds of houses to be flooded. Flood warnings were issued in most parts of the UK, and the southwest region suffered particularly severe flooding. Berkshire, located beside the River Thames, is one of the hardest-hit areas. Many Western celebrities own properties in the region, including Hollywood superstar George Clooney and British comedian Russell Brand, whose mansions have recently been submerged by floodwaters.
It is reported that the Clooneys bought their mansion for £12 million (about 64 million ringgit) some years ago. After the flood struck, the mansion’s tennis court and gardens have been covered by floodwaters. However, it is said that the Clooneys were not at home at the time of the incident.
