China will host the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Informal Meeting in Shenzhen next November.
According to CCTV News, Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the handover session of the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders' Informal Meeting on the 1st, and announced that China will host the 33rd APEC Economic Leaders' Informal Meeting in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, in November next year.
Xi Jinping said that China will assume the APEC host role for the third time in 2026, and is willing to take this opportunity to work hand in hand with all parties to build an Asia-Pacific community, promote growth and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region, focus efforts on advancing the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific, connectivity, digital economy, artificial intelligence, and other pragmatic cooperation, in order to inject greater vitality and momentum into Asia-Pacific development, and bring more benefits to the people of the Asia-Pacific.
Xi Jinping pointed out that Shenzhen is located on the Pacific coast, and over several decades has developed from a backward fishing village into a modern international metropolis, creating a miracle in the history of global development by the Chinese people, and is also an important window of China’s unwavering strategy of win-win opening.
