The Chinese Foreign Ministry has denied that Iran will receive a first batch of Chinese-made missile systems, stressing that such reports are completely groundless, and reaffirming that China has always been committed to promoting peace talks and de-escalating conflicts.

According to reports, Iran is expected to receive its first batch of Chinese-made man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS) in the coming weeks to rebuild its impaired air defense capability.

Sources revealed that the procurement contract is valued at about $60 million to $70 million (approximately 245.25 million to 286.13 million ringgit), covering 300 to 400 sets of man-portable air defense systems, including the Chinese-made QW-12 and FN-16 shoulder-fired air defense missiles.
