A German man discovered a lottery ticket in his jacket pocket that he had bought half a year ago and forgotten about, and unexpectedly won a prize of 15.3 million euros (about 75.59 million ringgit).
According to AFP, the German "Hessen Lotto Company" stated on the 29th that despite earlier efforts to search for the lucky winner, the father living in the Frankfurt area was completely unaware over the past few months that he had won such a huge prize.
As the weather in Germany gradually turned cooler, the man put on a jacket that he had not worn since March this year, and only then discovered the lottery ticket in the pocket.
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: "Last weekend, I found this folded lottery ticket in the inner pocket of my jacket. I took out my phone to check the winning numbers, and the prize amount left me stunned! Luckily I was sitting down at that moment, otherwise my legs would have given way."
He said that he had heard that the lottery company was looking for the lucky winner. "When I heard this news on the radio, I thought to myself, 'How could someone be so silly as not to claim their prize?' I never imagined that the person they were looking for was actually me."
When asked what he planned to do with this unexpected windfall, the man said he would buy a new sofa first. Other than that, he and his wife planned to use most of the money to secure the children's future.
Both of them have vowed not to tell anyone else about winning the grand prize.
