Israeli Defense Minister Katz confirmed that Israel assassinated former Hamas leader Haniyeh in Iran's capital Tehran in July, while warning that leaders of the Yemen "Youth Movement" armed group (Houthi), supported by Iran, would also be "decapitated" by the Israeli military, further escalating tensions between Iran and Israel in the region.

The "Youth Movement" armed group has recently launched multiple missile attacks on Israel. Katz said at a commemoration event on the 23rd: "We will strike the Youth Movement group heavily... and decapitate their leaders, just as we dealt with Haniyeh, Sinwar, and Nasrallah in Tehran, the Gaza Strip, and Lebanon. We will also do so in Hudaydah (an important Yemeni port) and Sanaa (Yemen's capital)."

Katz stated that Israel has already defeated Hamas and Hezbollah in Lebanon, destroyed Iran's defense system and missile production system, and will also impose severe strikes on the "Youth Movement" armed group.

On July 31st this year, Haniyeh was killed in Tehran. Israel had not admitted to carrying out this assassination. On September 27th, Hezbollah leader Nasrallah died in an Israeli airstrike on the southern suburbs of Lebanon's capital Beirut. On October 17th, the Israel Defense Forces and the National Security Bureau issued a joint statement saying that Haniyeh's successor, Sinwar, died in a military operation carried out by the Israeli military in the southern Gaza Strip on the 16th.
