(Miri, 4th) Miri Member of Parliament Chiew Choon Man released a statement acknowledging the recent announcement of a 6.3% dividend rate by the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), emphasizing that this is the highest dividend since before the COVID-19 pandemic, fully demonstrating the nation's strong economic recovery capabilities post-pandemic.
Chiew Choon Man pointed out that despite the uncertainties in the global economy, the impressive performance of the EPF reflects the government's correct economic policy direction and also proves that government efforts to promote economic growth and improve people's livelihoods have achieved tangible results.
“In the current challenging market environment, the EPF's ability to provide such considerable returns fully reflects the effectiveness of the 'Madani Economy Policy' (Dasar Ekonomi Madani). Financial reforms, enhanced governance capacity, and balanced economic growth have kept the EPF competitive and instilled confidence in investors about our country's economic resilience.”
He emphasized that the government will continue to strengthen public institution construction, enhance administrative efficiency, and attract high-quality investments to ensure long-term sustainable economic development of the nation, creating greater benefits for the people and future generations.
Chiew Choon Man stated that the high dividend rate not only reflects economic recovery but also directly benefits the people, providing EPF savers with higher retirement savings and increasing retirees' disposable income, thereby improving living standards.
“Some economic achievements may only remain at the data level and may not be directly felt by the people. But this increase in EPF dividends clearly shows that the government's economic stability and growth policies are gradually producing real benefits, allowing people to enjoy the dividends of national development.”
Chiew Choon Man also pointed out that although the government continually strives to drive reform, there will always be voices attempting to divert public attention away from economic recovery and development, but the government will not be swayed and will firmly implement good governance and deliver reform promises.
