A bomb explosion occurred at a café in Syria's capital Damascus on the 2nd, resulting in 9 deaths and 20 injuries.
According to AFP, the explosion happened near the Palace of Justice in the capital. Ambulances rushed to the scene with sirens blaring, and security forces cordoned off the blast area.
The Ministry of Interior stated on Telegram that the 'improvised explosive device' contained metal shards, causing severe casualties and major losses.
So far, no organization or individual has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
After arriving at the scene, Damascus Governor Mr. Erdiby said that the authorities have launched an investigation. "Those responsible for this bloody incident will be punished."
"Whenever the country stabilizes, there are always malicious forces trying to undermine it."
Turkey, Iraq, Jordan, Qatar, and Egypt—as well as the Arab League and the six Gulf Cooperation Council member states—all strongly condemned this terrorist bombing.
