Ye Xuan’s father was reported to have been diagnosed with cancer earlier, after which she put everything aside to accompany him through his medical treatment. Unfortunately, her father succumbed to the illness last year. She recently disclosed that she has been busy dealing with inheritance matters, and even became entangled in a bitter inheritance dispute, ending up as a defendant alongside her stepmother. Most heartbreaking of all, her father has still not been properly laid to rest.
According to Ye Xuan, during her father’s critical illness, a “caregiver” who was in charge of his daily care repeatedly slandered her in social settings and attempted to prevent family members from visiting him. In order to ensure that her father could recuperate in a stable environment, Ye Xuan chose to endure all of this at the time. However, after her father’s passing, the caregiver’s true identity came to light—as her father’s close female confidant. Taking advantage of loopholes in legal knowledge and the trust her father had during his lifetime, this person managed to transfer nearly half of his assets and illegally seized the deed to the Ye family ancestral burial ground. What’s even more shocking is that this person has now turned the tables, filing a lawsuit against Ye Xuan and her stepmother in an attempt to claim the rest of the inheritance.
In the face of these constant disputes over inheritance, Ye Xuan has remained extremely magnanimous. She states that, although her father left behind considerable wealth, she has no greed for it. In fact, she has already voluntarily transferred her entire entitled share of the inheritance to her stepmother and younger brother, and has only kept an old car that used to drive her father to medical appointments as a memento.
At present, what worries Ye Xuan the most is her father’s burial. Because the deed to the ancestral burial ground has been forcibly seized by another party, her father’s ashes have yet to be returned to the ancestral tomb. Ye Xuan emphasizes that, protected by China’s Civil Code and relevant marriage laws, the marriage between her father and stepmother remains legally valid. She maintains absolute confidence in judicial fairness and vows to reclaim ownership of the burial ground through legal means, in order to fulfill her father’s wish to be buried in the family’s ancestral grave.
