The 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade was held on the 27th in Manhattan, New York, and this year’s procession welcomed a “new friend” for the first time: LABUBU.
This is the largest Thanksgiving celebration in the country, attracting millions of spectators to the scene every year.
This year’s Thanksgiving parade once again kicked off with the giant float of “Tom the Turkey.” The lineup included 34 giant balloons, 28 floats, 4 sets of inflatable characters, 33 clown teams, 11 marching crews, and performance groups featuring singers, actors, and more. Among them, the float “Friendsgiving in POP CITY” received particular attention.
“It’s on the float.” Jacob, a New York resident, told a China News Service reporter, saying he originally thought LABUBU would appear as a giant balloon, but was surprised to see it on the float with its friends. “Of course, that’s lively too.”
On the day, other cartoon characters such as “Pac-Man” and “Buzz Lightyear” also made their parade debut. The brand-new floats and giant balloons continuously drew cheers from the crowd along the route.
At the starting point outside the American Museum of Natural History and the finish line outside Macy’s flagship store, music and dance stars put on wonderful performances. Among them, singer Cynthia Erivo kicked off the parade with the song “Feels So Good,” Broadway musical troupes from “Ragtime,” “& Juliet,” and “Harmony” performed selections from their shows, and singer Connor Gray presented “Vodka Cranberry.”
