(Bandar Seri Begawan, 27th) To celebrate Brunei’s 42nd National Day, Chung Hwa Middle School, Brunei held a grand celebration on the morning of the 25th at 8 am in the school’s Peace Hall. The entire school’s teachers and students gathered together, expressing their love and loyalty for the country through a solemn ceremony and high enthusiasm.
The event began with the solemn singing of the national anthem. All teachers and students stood respectfully and sang the Brunei national anthem. This was followed by the recitation of a prayer, wishing the country peace, stability, and prosperity. The scene was serious and sacred.
During the subsequent student representative pledge segment, a student representative led all students in making a solemn vow to study hard, abide by school rules, love Brunei, and contribute to the country’s future development. The sound of the pledge echoed throughout the hall, showcasing the positive and energetic spirit of Wenzhong students.
During the event, kindergarteners and secondary students entered holding small Brunei flags. The bright flags waved in the children’s hands, symbolizing a future full of hope for Brunei. All teachers and students also watched a special National Day video, revisiting the country’s glorious achievements since independence and further igniting the school’s patriotic enthusiasm.
Principal Hsu Yueh Lan stated that as the largest Chinese-medium school in Brunei, the school has always adhered to the educational philosophy of “trilingual emphasis and balanced development in five areas.” While inheriting Chinese culture, the school also actively integrates into Bruneian society, cultivating outstanding talents with an international vision and patriotic feelings.
