The international film world's annual event—the 83rd Venice Film Festival—is set to be held from September 2nd to 12th, and on the 6th, organizers announced that 65-year-old Hollywood superstar George Clooney will receive this year's prestigious Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement.
Excelling both as an actor and director, Clooney and his leading works have been selected for the Venice Film Festival numerous times. In 2005, his self-written, directed, and starring film “Good Night and Good Luck” won the Best Screenplay Award. Clooney released a statement saying: “I have enjoyed many extraordinary moments in Venice. Without a doubt, this is my favorite film festival, and receiving the Golden Lion is an enormous honor. Perhaps it also means I’m getting old, but I’m happy to accept that.”#
