After more than 3 years of construction, the Huajiang Gorge Bridge, spanning the border of Qianxinan Prefecture and Anshun City in Guizhou, China, opened to traffic on the 28th. The bridge is 2,890 meters long and is currently the world's longest span steel truss suspension bridge in a mountainous canyon. The height of the bridge deck above the water is 625 meters, surpassing the Beipanjiang First Bridge to become the new world’s highest bridge.

The travel time between the two banks will be shortened from 2 hours to just 2 minutes. (Photo: Xinhua News Agency)
