A Brazilian woman was stung by a scorpion while trying on clothes at a shopping center. She immediately felt dizzy and nauseated, and later sought help from the mall’s fire department before being rushed to the hospital for treatment.
According to various foreign media reports, the wounded woman is a 20-year-old female college student, Alice Speich.
On the afternoon of the 20th local time, she was shopping at ParkShopping in São Paulo. While trying on clothes at the well-known fashion brand ZARA, she suddenly felt pain in her leg. When she looked down, she found a scorpion on her leg. Speich immediately felt dizzy and experienced intense pain.
The woman’s mother called the mall’s fire department for help, but it had already been 30 minutes by the time the staff arrived.
Although Speich was frightened, she remained conscious throughout. She is currently still in the hospital under observation after receiving treatment.
She stated that she does not rule out taking legal action against the mall. The shopping center expressed its regret over Speich’s experience and said it would increase pest control measures in the future.
ZARA responded that they had already contacted the injured customer and would provide necessary assistance as much as possible, and would strive to ensure similar incidents do not happen in the future.
