A speedboat carrying 11 foreign tourists has lost contact in the waters near Gorontalo Province on the eastern Indonesian island of Sulawesi. Currently, a joint search and rescue team is conducting search operations.
Heryanto, head of the Gorontalo Province Search and Rescue Agency, told the media that in the early morning of the 24th local time, the speedboat departed from Tojo Una-Una Regency in Central Sulawesi Province, heading for Pohuwato Regency in Gorontalo Province, but lost contact while passing through Tomini Bay.
He pointed out that the local search and rescue department received the missing report on the afternoon of the 24th.
He stated that there were a total of 13 people on board the missing speedboat, including 2 Indonesian crew members and 11 tourists from European countries. The local rescue department launched a large-scale sea search operation on the morning of the 25th.
