Asia Television Holdings (ATV) is facing increasingly severe financial issues, having owed around HK$382 million (approximately RM200 million) by the end of July. At the same time, ATV's Tai Po headquarters owed more than HK$1.5 million (about RM810,000) in electricity bills, and was taken to court by CLP Power to recover the debt.
However, despite being in debt, this has absolutely not slowed down ATV's pace. The latest news is that, unexpectedly, the most recent "35th Miss Asia Pageant Global Finals" has already been quietly completed, and even selected 3 second runners-up, 2 first runners-up, and a champion—a move that is totally unconventional! ATV truly is forever unique!
Speaking of Miss Asia, this grand event, first held in 1985, is indeed steeped in history. Initially, it was held only in Hong Kong and produced many stars, such as Candy Lo, Kristy Yang, Teresa Mo, Nancy Sit, and Veronica Yip. After a period of hiatus, it was relaunched in 2004, expanding beyond Greater China to other parts of Asia, making it truly international!
