According to the official estimates from China, during the 3-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the number of domestic trips in China reached 119 million, marking a year-on-year increase of 5.7%.
Based on comprehensive reports from Chinese media, and data from the Data Center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the number of domestic trips in China was 119 million, increasing by 5.7% compared to the previous year; total domestic tourist expenditure reached 42.73 billion RMB (25.239 billion MYR), which is a year-on-year increase of 5.9%.
The National Immigration Administration of China also reported that during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the national border inspection agencies facilitated a total of 5.907 million exits and entries by domestic and foreign personnel, with a daily average of 1.969 million, reflecting a 2.7% increase compared to the same period last year. Among the foreign nationals entering, there were 231,000 entries under visa-free policies, which is an increase of 59.4% year-on-year.
Data disclosed by the Ministry of Transport of China show that during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the total flow of people across regions reached 653.7 million, with a daily average of 217.9 million people, a year-on-year increase of 2.5%.
This year's Dragon Boat Festival holiday saw a 17% year-on-year increase in passenger flights on international and regional routes to and from China.
According to data compiled by the Flight Master Civil Aviation Dashboard, from May 31 to June 2, the actual number of passenger flights on domestic routes in China was 37,000, a year-on-year increase of 0.65%; the actual number of passenger flights on international and regional routes was 6,679, up by 17%. Notably, June 2 had the highest number of flights for a single day.
