(City News, 4th) The Fire and Rescue Department (FRD), with the assistance of multiple government agencies, is currently conducting a search and rescue operation for a man believed to have drowned near Kampong Sungai Besar.
According to the department, a distress call regarding the drowning was received at 9:28 a.m.
Twelve personnel from the Sungai Kebun Fire Station and Barakah Fire Station were dispatched to the scene.
The department’s diving team has been searching for the male victim, who is believed to have fallen into the water while fishing.
The operation is led by Fire Chief Muhidi.
Other participating agencies include the Marine Police, the Water Village Police Station, the Brunei Maritime and Port Authority, as well as the Brunei Royal Navy Drone Unit.
