After a 15-month investigation, Vietnam announced that it will impose a 97% anti-dumping duty on wind towers originating from China.
According to foreign media reports, Vietnam's Ministry of Trade issued a statement on the 24th, announcing the above news, and stated that the tariff is expected to take effect 15 days from the date of signing and will be effective for five years.
In September 2023, after domestic producers in Vietnam claimed that Chinese-made wind towers were being dumped, harming their interests, Vietnam launched an investigation into the industry.
The statement said that based on the evidence collected, wind towers imported from several Chinese companies were being dumped, causing significant damage to Vietnam's domestic manufacturing industry.
The Ministry of Trade also mentioned that the upcoming measures will apply to almost all Chinese companies, except for Jiangsu Zhenjiang New Energy Equipment Co., Ltd., as this company was not found to have engaged in dumping behavior during the investigation.
