Malaysia-China Friendship Association and Xinhua Kuala Lumpur Bureau Donate Photos to Malaysia Chinese Museum

The Malaysia-China Friendship Association, together with the Xinhua News Agency Kuala Lumpur Bureau, donated photos showcasing the development of Malaysia-China friendship to the Malaysia Chinese Museum as a tribute to the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

This collection of 76 precious photos captures the activities in various fields between Malaysia and China since the establishment of diplomatic relations on May 31, 1974, serving as valuable historical records.

The Malaysia-China Friendship Association Secretariat stated in a press release that on June 18, 2024, Chinese Premier Li Qiang, at the invitation of Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, will visit Malaysia to attend the two countries' 50th anniversary diplomatic reception.

The Malaysia-China Friendship Association and Xinhua News Agency Kuala Lumpur Bureau have jointly planned to host a photo exhibition at the reception venue and compile these photos into an album as a gift from Premier Li Qiang to Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The Malaysia-China Friendship Association and Xinhua News Agency Kuala Lumpur Bureau will also hold photo exhibitions in conjunction with several official events at venues including Kuala Lumpur Independence Square, Penang, Sabah, and the Chinese Consulate in Sarawak, sharing the fruitful achievements in various fields since the establishment of diplomatic relations and bearing witness to the ever-growing Malaysia-China friendship.

Malaysia Chinese Museum Executive Director Lin Jiahao said the museum will set up a special area to display these historically valuable and meaningful photos, allowing visitors to better understand the development of friendly relations between Malaysia and China through these photographic records.

Representatives attending the handover ceremony included Malaysia-China Friendship Association Deputy Secretary-General Huang Zhenlong, Administrative Director Chen Chunfu, Xinhua News Agency Kuala Lumpur Bureau Chief Mao Pengfei, and Xinhua Kuala Lumpur Bureau External Liaison Director and Marketing Manager Wang Haihua. The Malaysia Chinese Museum was represented by Executive Director Lin Jiahao to sign the agreement.
