Man's Sudden Death at Eatery in Serian Under Police Investigation

(Kuching, 25th) — A man was found dead after falling from his chair at an open-air market eatery in Serian in the early hours of last Friday (22nd).

Serian District Police Chief, Superintendent Aswandy Anis, stated that based on initial investigations, it is believed the deceased had fallen asleep beside one of the tables at around 4am.

A shop owner reported that the man suddenly fell from his chair, and emergency services were immediately contacted.

Medical personnel arrived at the scene soon after to examine the man and confirmed that he had already passed away.

He said: "Initial investigations have not found any criminal elements, and the case is currently being handled as a sudden death case."

"The deceased's body has been sent to Serian Hospital for a post-mortem examination and further investigation. The police have also identified and notified the deceased's family about the incident."

He also urged the public not to speculate about the case so as not to affect the police investigation.
