2024 Asia-Pacific ICT Alliance Awards Ceremony

(Bandar Seri Begawan, 8th) The 2024 Asia-Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards Ceremony was held last night at a hotel in Gadong.

The Minister of Transport and Communications of Brunei, Awang Haji Sahari, presided over the presentation of the Cross Category Awards and the Technology Awards to the winners.

The highlight of last night was the announcement of the 2024 Asia-Pacific ICT Alliance Award winners, with trophies and certificates presented to over 120 winners, including champions, runners-up, merit award recipients, and People's Choice Award winners.

Winners included Progresif Sdn Bhd's Progresif Ding! in the Banking, Insurance, and Finance category, and Nextacloud Technologies Sdn Bhd's Bloodkad in the Community and Indigenous Services category.

AIquatic Enterprise won the runner-up in the IoT category and the third place in the Yearly R&D Project as well as the Agriculture, Supply and Sustainability category.

Dst Digital Sdn Bhd took the third place in the Community and Indigenous Services category; Ma’had Islam Brunei received the merit award in the Junior Student category; Chung Hwa Middle School Brunei achieved the third place in the Senior Student Project; Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University was awarded a merit in the Tertiary Student Project Application category; the Ministry of Health won the runner-up in the Business Analytics category.

The competition received over 270 entries from more than 180 participating teams across the member economies of the Asia-Pacific ICT Alliance.

Entries were judged across 24 categories, including Consumer, Inclusivity and Community Services, Industrial, Business Services, Public Sector and Government, Student subcategories, as well as Cross Category and Technology Awards.

The People's Choice Award in the High School and Tertiary Student Project categories was one of the most anticipated awards, determined by the most public votes. These awards highlight the pivotal role of youth in driving innovation and engaging communities through impactful technology solutions.

The Asia-Pacific ICT Alliance Awards are held annually as a platform for competition for innovative digital products and solutions in the Asia-Pacific region, aiming to recognize their competitiveness and potential in the region.

Last night's event also saw the transfer of the Asia-Pacific ICT Alliance Awards to the host of the 2025 event, Chinese Taipei.
